Business Philosophy

At the Archaeological Research Center of St. Louis, Inc., we strive to serve the needs of our clients by providing timely and thorough analyses of cultural resources.

What Can Be Gained From a Cultural Resource Management Investigation?

Cultural resource management studies grew out of a public concern for the rapid loss of our shared prehistoric and historic cultural heritage.  They provide a public record that has proven beneficial in diverse forms including the development of educational curricula, public policy, medical research, and environmental analysis.  Furthermore, it is well known that performance of a CRM investigation can enhance public support and generate positive publicity for construction projects.  Finally, appropriate cultural resource management steps taken during the initial stages of a construction project can increase property values over the long term by recovering information about the history of an area, and protecting historic and pre-historic resources that add to the character of the landscape.

Who Performs Cultural Resource Management Studies?

Only professional archaeologists that meet strict federal and state qualifications can perform a CRM study.  Qualifications are set forth in the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards (48FR44738-9).
